World War II

When the first round of mobilization orders were issued on 20 Sept 1940, most Washington Army National Guard units were elements of the 41st Division. The 41st Division included units from Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana. Washington National Guard units assigned to the 41st Division included:

161st Infantry Regiment
146th Field Artillery Regiment
148th Field Artillery Regiment (Elements of)
116th Quartermaster Regiment (Elements of)
116th Medical Regiment (Elements of)

Washington National Guard units that were also mobilized but not with the 41st Division included:

103rd Anti-tank Battalion – 30 Sep 1940 (re-designated 803rd Tank Destroyer Battalion 12 Dec 1941)
205th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment – 3 Feb 1941
248th Coast Artillery Regiment – 16 Sept 1940
